Workshop 2021- Constructional Approach to Training Dogs

Use the Constructional Framework Questions to Design a Plan
Answers to the Framework Questions clarify exactly what you want to achieve. They reveal what simple steps to take right now to get the best outcome for both you and your dog.

What do you want the dog to DO?
Be as precise as you can about where & when. Is it bark less at a certain time? Keep the leash loose on walks in the park? Not jump on you when you get home?

What does the dog REALLY want?
Observe the dog and determine where he directs his attention. Does he want more of your attention? Is he attracted to something else in the environment?

What does the dog have now and what behavior is missing?
Take inventory. What is the dog already doing well? What one desirable behavior is missing from the list?

How will adding the missing behavior help you and the dog each get what you want?
Design a blueprint for constructing the missing behavior. Consistently reinforce it to build a new habit.
Would you like me to help you construct a training blueprint for your dog?
Knowing what to do is one thing but actually executing your plan in everyday life is something else. Bumps in the road can often feel like hitting a solid brick wall! That's when you need a good dose of dog wisdom.
I'd be honored to help you achieve your training goals.
